& BELIEFS

Mission Statement

The mission of GACIS is to advocate for excellence in public education through visionary leadership, effective professional learning, and a strong network of curriculum and instructional leaders.

Belief Statements

GACIS believes that strong curriculum and instructional leadership is key to improving teaching, learning, and student outcomes across Georgia. These belief statements reflect the core principles that guide our advocacy, professional learning, and support for members. They define what we value and how we equip leaders to navigate an evolving educational landscape while ensuring all students have access to high-quality learning opportunities.

We believe it is essential to:

  • Build curriculum and instructional leaders’ capacity to communicate clear expectations for learning and the implementation of effective, standards-aligned assessment practices that support all students in reaching their potential.

  • Support leaders in their role as supervisors by increasing the depth of understanding in effective teaching practices and the use of evidence to inform continuous improvement.

  • Advocate for the protection of instructional time and a supportive and safe environment as  critical conditions for effective teaching and learning.

  • Provide high-quality, responsive professional learning that addresses the evolving and emerging needs of curriculum and instructional leaders.

  • Promote strong teacher and leader pipelines that ensure every student is served by effective educators.
